Metropolitan Demetrius Presides at Holy Thursday Matins in Greece

His Eminence was invited to preside at the Church of The Holy Trinity, at Rodopoli, Attika, by the local Hierarch, Metropolitan Chrysostomos, for the Matins service of Holy Thursday.

This was an honor for our Metropolitan because this is the Church that Fr John Floros served for many years. Fr John was the holy priest who served the famous vigil service of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in 1925 on Mount Hymettos, where the cross appeared in the sky above the Church of St John the Theologian, in the presence of 2000 people.

A photo gallery of the service is available here (link will take you off of our site):

Why do we Call Angels “Saint”?

Q. I noticed that we call the angels Michael and Gabriel "Saint." I thought the title "Saint" was only given to humans who have proven themselves Godly. Do you mind clarifying this for me? Is there a deeper meaning to "Saint" that I am not aware of?
